It’s time to get your Christmas Party Chex Mix on!
What’s fun about having a food blog is that you get to prep for holidays ahead of time. This usually means prepping a recipe weeks and sometimes months out. So in this case, the Christmas music of course had to come out as well so out came the Michael Buble Christmas album in November WAY before Thanksgiving and I’m not ashamed at all!
So full disclosure, this fun Christmas Party Chex Mix stems from everything I personally have been wanting in a Chex mix but have always felt is missing. Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy and pretty much inhale Chex Mix when it’s out in a big bowl at a party. It pretty much screams, “EAT ME EAT ME!” Am I right?! I don’t know about you but I’m first to devour the Rice Chex, then the pretzels, then the nuts, followed by the Corn Chex and Wheat Chex. And then you’d unfortunately find leftover in my bowl, the bagel chips. Poor bagel chips. 🙁
Tell me I’m not the only one to not eat the bagel chips!
What I’ve really been wanting in my Chex Mix is more sweetness and more “healthy stuff” in my Chex Mix. Which basically means taking just my favorite party of the Chex Mix, the Rice Chex and marrying them with trail mix and Christmas M&M’s! Because….that’s what makes it a Christmas Party Chex Mix and who can resist Christmas M&M’s?! Not me, and certainly not my sweet little helper, shown below. She pretty much was only interested in the M&M’s hahaha! And who can blame her!
Personal Note 🙂
I share this sweet picture to also give you a glimpse into what’s it’s really like making recipes and trying to photograph them with a toddler and baby. Let’s just say it’s a total mixture of fun, craziness, frustration and often results in bribing sweet toddler with extra M&M’s and sometimes an episode or two of Doc McStuffins so I can squeeze in that extra shot. 🙂 It’s certainly been an adventure for sure and I am so thankful that I get to share this fun passion with my girls!
Hope you enjoy and Merry Christmas!
